Is Your Dog Getting the Nutrients They Need to Support Muscular Health?

Dog food brands formulate products to meet AAFCO requirements. But if your dog eats less (or more) than the standard amount, they may be getting too little or too much of certain nutrients.

Use this calculator to see how your dog's needs compare to what standard AAFCO-certified dog food formulations likely provide.

Nutrient Your Dog Needs (NRC) AAFCO-Min Food Provides Status Why It Matters for Muscular Health
About this calculator. "Your Dog Needs" values use NRC 2006 Recommended Allowances calculated from metabolic body weight (BW^0.75). "AAFCO-Min Food Provides" shows what a dog would receive if the food is formulated at AAFCO minimum concentrations and fed at the estimated calorie level. Most commercial foods exceed AAFCO minimums, so actual intake may be higher. This is an educational tool, not veterinary or nutritional advice. For guidance specific to your dog, consult your veterinarian or a board-certified veterinary nutritionist (DACVN).
